Githurai is located in the Northeastern part of Nairobi, about 12km from the city center. The area is densely populated, and has a high HIV infection rate, commonly due to the sex industry that thrives in the community. CARE for AIDS opened a center in partnership with Berea Baptist Church in Githurai in 2013.
