I’m so excited to be writing this post from Kenya! This week has been an incredible “homecoming,” as all the Kenyans put it, with plenty of joyful reunions and lots of updates from the centers and the admin team here in Limuru. Sometimes it feels like I never left – like when I get in the car and don’t think twice about having a shifter in my left hand or when I wake up in the bedroom where I spent two years. Other times it feels incredibly foreign, like when I’m introducing myself to new staff members or realizing how much has happened in the last nine months!
One of the things that I was quickly reminded of, though, is the unbelievable commitment and determination in each member of our staff here in Kenya. I’m continually amazed at how devoted they are to the big picture of their work every day, constantly giving thanks to God for the change they see in the lives of our clients, and always striving to do their jobs better. I’ve always been impressed at how willing these guys are to learn and to study, and I’ve seen several members of the team with materials that they are going through on their own time to grow.
That’s where you come in! Many of us have hundreds of books laying around our houses that could be impactful on the life of one of our staff members. Would you consider sending one of those books to Kenya to help us build a resource library for our staff? Specifically, we are looking for books dealing with leadership, counseling, health , HIV/AIDS, or spiritual growth, but we would also accept other books that you’ve found meaningful.
If you have any books you’d be willing to donate, or you’d like to purchase and send one, please mail them to the following address to arrive before March 25, and they will come over to Kenya the following week:

Thank you so much for your help!
