This post is an an excerpt from a guest blog Jenn Stewart recently did for Feeding Children Everywhere, a nonprofit dedicated to providing nutrition and affordable meals both locally and globally. Our partnership with FCE is allowing CFAU students to package 300,000 meals to be sent to Kenya this Spring.
This past Thursday, Feeding Children Everywhere partnered with CARE for AIDS to host a food packing event at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Over the course of the event, students showed up to package healthy meals to be sent to Kenya.
Throughout the academic school year, Furman students have been hosting various events to raise funds and awareness for CARE for AIDS through CFAU (CARE for AIDS University). The packing event on Thursday, called imPACKt, was the final CFAU event of the year.
As the trucks rolled in Thursday afternoon, Furman students were filled with excitement! It was finally time for the event they had been anticipating since early fall. CFAU imPACKt gave Furman students a very tangible way to impact CARE for AIDS clients all the way in Kenya and it gave them an immediate local opportunity to love globally.
